THE SFORZA

 

Between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, Milan acquired considerable prestige, becoming one of the most important artistic centers of the Italian Renaissance scene. This cultural rise was possible thanks to the role played by the Sforza, for whom art played a way to affirm an identity, the demonstration of the greatness of a cultural and artistic tradition. The Duchy reached its peak with Ludovico il Moro. Here with him, the steps of great artists met: Leonardo Da Vinci, who was commissioned the Last Supper, Bramante, Sangallo, the miniaturist Giovanni Ambrogio de Predis, and the enameller Foppa, Benvenuto Cellini's master, only for name a few...
